Granite Material for Countertops

Granite is the most popular natural stone for kitchen and bath countertops, and there are several thousand colors to choose from.  The natural uniqueness and hardness of granite makes it an ideal material for counters in both areas of your home.

Granite is a very dense igneous stone that is highly resistant to staining and scratching. The coloration does not fade over time, leaving your granite as vivid and beautiful as when it was first installed.

Many stones have several different common names – so if you are looking for a particular color or pattern of granite, please let us know and we will help you find the right one for your home design.

Since granite is a natural product that comes out of the ground – there are natural variations in appearance even between individual slabs of the same color in the same purchase lot.  This is why we never suggest ordering granite online, but instead invite you to come and choose the exact slab that will be used in your home improvement or new home construction project.  This way you get exactly what you want and need and there are no surprises in the end!

We carry a large selection of high-quality natural stone that can be used for a variety of home design projects such as kitchen counters and kitchen islands, bathroom vanities, fireplace surrounds, outdoor kitchen and firepit areas.

Granite FAQ

Q: Will Granite Scratch?
A: Granite is one of the hardest materials on earth, but due to the composition of the stone, some are harder than others.  Also some stones that are sold as granite are not truly a ‘granite’ (by the technical geology definition).  Diamond tools are used to cut and polish the stone, and so diamonds are the only mineral able to easily scratch it.  In general, granite is the most scratch-resistant countertop material available.

Q: Do I have to seal my granite countertops?
A: Granite is a naturally porous stone, but can be sealed to a relatively impermeable surface – meaning it will not absorb or trap liquid or bacteria.
It is recommended that you reseal your countertops once a year and it is a simple process of applying a liquid coat to your counters and allowing it to set for 24 hours.  Pinnacle Granite Solutions has sealers made specifilly for your natural stone.

Q: How do I clean my granite everyday?
A: They can be cleaned with a mild soap.  You will want to stay away from abrasive or acidic cleaners.

Q: Can I set hot pots on my granite countertops?
A: Granite can withstand high temperatures, however we do not recommend leaving anything hot on the counter surface for a long period of time.

Q: Do you fabricate the granite countertops:
A: No.  But if you are just starting out, we can help you with every step of the process and point you in the right direction.

Q: What about sinks?
A: We also sell stainless steel and porcelain kitchen and bathroom sinks.
